Who would have thought that Tino Shade’s (CV: Kubota Miyu) master would be such an angry character? In episode 4 of “The Grieving Ghost Wants to Retire,” Tino, frightened by his master’s anger, kneels and apologizes, resulting in a scene so impactful that it’s as if his “ass is talking.”
In episode 4, Cry Andrich (CV: Kensho Ono ) and his friends encounter Liz Smart (CV: Fairouz Ai ) in the treasure hall. Liz, like Cry, is a member of the strongest party, Strange Grief. She is a thief with the nickname “Zetsuei,” which comes from the name of her technique, which boasts lightning speed that leaves no trace behind.
Liz seemed dissatisfied with her pupil Tino’s fighting style, scolding him, saying, “I can’t believe that Liz’s pupil can’t even clean up the trash properly!” Tino was so scared of her master that she collapsed. She then prostrated herself, prostrating her buttocks high in the air, and begged, “It’s my fault for being weak! Please forgive me!”
Tino’s magnificent kneeling was shown in close-up, and it looked as if his butt was talking… The internet was flooded with reactions such as “It’s scary how crazy the way he treats his disciple is,” “I bet Cry feels the difference in power and wants to quit,” and “It’s like the epitome of power harassment, it’s too dangerous,” and it seems that just like Tino, many viewers were shaken by Liz’s strictness.
The currently streaming anime “The Grieving Ghost Wants to Retire” is based on a popular light novel series with over 1.5 million copies sold, written by Tsukikage and illustrated by Chieko. It is the “ultimate misunderstanding comedy fantasy” about Cry Andrich, an ordinary person who is elevated to the position of leader of the strongest party, “Strange Grief.” The TV anime began airing in October 2024.
