The anime “Chibi Maruko-chan” (Fuji TV Network / Every Sunday at 6:00 p.m.) will be broadcasting “The 35th Anniversary of the Anime! Maruko and her Fun Friends Spring Sakura Momoko Festival” from April 6th to May 25th.
The show will feature the most popular works from Sakura Momoko’s original and past scripts, with new illustrations and direction.
Chibi Maruko-chan began airing as an anime in 1990 and will celebrate its 35th anniversary on January 7th, 2025. The “Spring Sakura Momoko Festival” is a project to commemorate this. A total of 10 episodes will be broadcast during the period, including “The Hanawa Mansion is Finally Revealed,” “Nagasawa-kun’s New House Party,” “Maruo-kun Finally Runs for the Third Term Class Representative Election,” and “Memories of the Coat.”
In “The Hanawa House is Finally Revealed,” Maruko and her friends visit the wealthy Hanawa-kun mansion. The big gate and chandeliers excite Maruko and her friends, but…? In “Nagasawa’s Housewarming Party,” about a year has passed since Nagasawa-kun’s house burned down, and he has finally built a new home, so Maruko and her friends are invited to the housewarming party. Nagasawa-kun is happy he is the star today, but Yamada Kun’s mishap throws him off balance…? In “Maruo-kun is Finally Running for Class Representative in the Third Term,” Maruo-kun, Migiwa-san, Ebisu-kun, and Maruko are nominated to run for class representative in the third term. While Maruko is nervous about voting, Maruo-kun works hard on his election campaign.
The anime “Chibi Maruko-chan” airs every Sunday at 6:00 p.m. on Fuji TV. 35th Anniversary of the Animation! Maruko and Her Fun Friends Spring Sakura Momoko Festival” will be broadcast on April 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th, May 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th.
