“Watanare: There’s No Way I Can Become a Lover! (It Wasn’t Impossible!?)” It is a nonstop girls’ love comedy set in school life, featuring a diverse cast of unique characters. The story follows protagonist Rena Amano, who leaves her lonely middle school days behind to start high school. After a chance encounter where they share their worries, they form a secret friendship with her classmate and school superstar, Mayu Ozuka.
The original work is a light novel currently being published by Shueisha’s Dash-X Bunko, which won first place in the original work category at the “Next Light Novel Awards 2021.” As of September 2024, the series has sold over 500,000 copies. Directed by Uchinuma Natsumi and animated by studio MOTHER, the TV anime stars Nakamura Kanna, Onishi Saori, Anzai Yukari, Ichinose Kana, Tanaka Takako, and Sagara Mayu. Episode 7: “No Matter How Hard You Try, It’s Impossible!” Thanks to Ajisai, Mayu can speak to Satsuki face-to-face. Renako is nominated as the witness.
