by The sixth installment in the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba stage series, “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” – Pillar Rehearsals, is scheduled to premiere in Tokyo in June 2026.
The role of the protagonist, Tanjiro Kamado, will be played by a double cast: Shogo Sakamoto, who will continue from the previous work, and newcomer Hayato Takahashi.
The stage adaptation of the manga “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” by Koyoharu Gotouge has been running as a series since its 2020 premiere.
This is the sixth installment in the series, and the story follows Tanjiro and his friends, who have won a fierce battle in the swordsmith village, as they undergo rigorous training under the “pillars,” the Demon Slayer Corps’ strongest swordsmen, in preparation for their fight against their nemesis, Muzan Kibutsuji.
Shogo Sakamoto, who plays Tanjiro Kamado, has appeared in numerous stage plays and musicals, including “Touken Ranbu” and “xxxHOLiC,” and has established himself as an actor while also being active as a singer-songwriter.
Meanwhile, Hayato Takahashi, who will be joining the cast to play Tanjiro, is one of the most talked-about actors today, having starred in musicals such as “Jamie” and “Astro Boy,” and is also active as a member of the dance and vocal unit “WATWING.”
The sixth film in the series, “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Stage Play: Pillar Rehearsal,” will be written and directed by Motoyoshi Tsuneyasu, who also wrote the script for the previous film, and will feature music by Wada Shunsuke.
Additionally, it has been announced that Shogo Sakamoto, Shohei Hashimoto, and newly appointed Hayato Takahashi will appear on the talk stage at the Nelke Planning booth at Jump Festa 2026, to be held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba on December 20, 2025.
