The official X (formerly Twitter) account for the TV anime “Oshi no Ko” has released “Oshi no Ko,” a TV anime based on a manga by Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari. This luxurious collaboration depicts the light and darkness of the entertainment world based on detailed research. Since its serialization began in April 2020, the original work has attracted support from many celebrities and industry insiders and has become a hot topic. With that momentum, it won the grand prize at the “Next Manga Awards 2021 Comics Division”.

It has also been announced that the final chapter, Chapter 166, will be published in the 50th issue of “Weekly Young Jump,” which will be released on November 14, 2024. The final 16th volume will be released on December 18, bringing the approximately four and a half years of serialization to an end.

The first season of the TV anime, which began airing in April 2023, received a tremendous response worldwide and was popular among various generations. The second season will air in July 2024, and the third season’s production has also been decided. A live-action drama will begin streaming on Amazon Prime Video on November 28, 2024. A live-action movie is scheduled to be released in theaters on December 20. In addition, a 2.5-dimensional stage performance will also be held in December. Today, in honor of Halloween on October 31, the Halloween visual of Melto Narushima from the anime “Oshi no Ko,” always a hot topic, was released.

The image is a potent composition of a werewolf with red eyes shining against the backdrop of a full moon. Melto Narushima is a character who played a particularly active role in the second season of the TV anime. In the first season, when he acted in the drama “Today is Sweet,” he was criticized by people involved for his “poor acting.” However, in episode 6 of the second season (episode 17 overall), “Growth,” his acting improved dramatically, just as the subtitle says. Thanks to Aqua’s casual advice, he overturned his harsh criticism. Like that of a protagonist, his growth is very popular with fans.

This Halloween visual has also been met with joyful comments on social media, such as “You’re the protagonist after all!!” In a special video using a new voice by voice actor Maeda Seiji, unveiled at the same time as the visual was released, Melt appears to ask for sweets, starting with “Trick or treat!” The voice and the camerawork allow you to get a closer look at his werewolf-like poses and costume, so it’s a must-see. Fans have expressed their passion for Melt, saying things like, “What? He’s too handsome?”, “It’s too good to be true; I’m crying. I’m so emotional,” “I never thought Melt would be there!” and “The sudden supply made my heart… it was a great Halloween.”

Furthermore, Okubo Rumi, the voice actress who plays MEMcho, also posted a comment on her own X, expressing her emotion at seeing the visuals, saying, “Thank you to the world that gave birth to Melt-kyun…”. Her excitement is well conveyed in the sentence, “In the middle of the night, a voice that hardly sounds human came out (?)”. Check out the visuals and the video to see Melt looking destructive in his werewolf cosplay. All episodes of the TV anime “Oshi no Ko” are currently streaming on ABEMA.
