The “Hypnosis Mic ” game app, “Hypnosis Mic -Dream Rap Battle- (Hypdori),” ceased service at noon on September 30, 2025. Fans expressed their sadness at the farewell.
“Hypdori” is a rap battle RPG developed in collaboration with Odd Number, Dazed, and King Records. Released on November 20, 2024, it captivated fans with its fully voiced main story, original gameplay, and vibrant 3D motion.
The game celebrated its half-anniversary in May, and just when it seemed like it was almost one year away, the end of service was announced in early August. Finally, on September 30, fans’ thoughts about the service’s demise were scattered across social media, becoming a trending topic.
Participants shared their memories of the fun they had playing “Hypdori,” sharing their favorite card illustrations and storylines, as well as saving screenshots and rap battle animations. Ryota Iwasaki, the voice actor who plays Shirokumoku Saru from Dotsuitare Honpo, also shared his thoughts.
“I was excited to see the characters and story that can only be seen here, and the recording was fun! Thank you so much to all the staff who worked so hard on this! Thank you to all the users who enjoyed playing!” he wrote on his Instagram. He also struggled with the gacha for Saru, the character he plays, posting joyfully, “I finally got Rock Saru on the last day !” With the end of service for “Hypdori,” refunds for the game’s in-game currency, “Paid Jewels,” will be available from September 30 to December 31, 2025, at noon.
The main story is also available on the official website and YouTube; if you haven’t seen it yet, be sure to check it out. In addition, another game app for “Hypnosis Mic,” “Hypnosis Mic -Alternative Rap Battle-,” celebrated its 5.5-year anniversary on September 26 and remains available for distribution.
