“Wait a minute…” in response to sudden developments.
The currently airing fall anime is reaching its climax, and many shows are showing signs of excitement on social media. Some shows have undergone a sudden turn of events, completely changing the atmosphere. Viewers have expressed surprise at the unexpected turn of events.
This article contains spoilers for episode 7 of the TV anime “Dandadan,” episode 3 of “Chi. – About the Earth’s Movement,” and episode 4 of “Mushroom Dog.” Episode 7 of “Dandadan” “Dandadan” (original work: Tatsuyuki Shinobu) is an anime based on the manga of the same name currently being serialized in “Shonen Jump +” (Shueisha). Momo (Ayase Momo / CV: Wakayama Shion), a high school girl who believes in ghosts, and Okarun (Takakura Ken / CV: Hanae Natsuki), a high school boy who believes in aliens, encounter various mysterious phenomena and fight against monsters and aliens.
The highlights of this series are the borderline vulgar jokes, battles, and horror elements, but the seventh episode took a turn and surprised fans with a tear-jerking plot. In this episode, the sad past of Akusara (Acrobatic Sarasa/CV: Kikuko Inoue), a monster obsessed with Aira (Aira Shiratori/CV: Ayane Sakura), a high school girl who attends the same high school as Momo and Okarun, is revealed. In stark contrast to the many humorous episodes up until now, Akusara’s sad past brought tears to the eyes of many viewers.
Episode 3 of “Chi. -About the Earth’s Movement-” “Chi. -About the Earth’s Movement-” (original work: Uo Yutaka), based on the manga of the same name that was serialized in “Big Comic Spirits” (Shogakukan), is one of the works that is vying for dominance in the fall anime season. Set in 15th-century Europe, the child prodigy Rafał (voiced by Maaya Sakamoto) meets Hubert (voiced by Shou Hayami), a scholar researching the heliocentric theory, which was considered heretical at the time. He is captivated by the beauty of the man and becomes absorbed in his research. Just when you thought the story would continue with Rafał’s research, the tide turned in the third episode. After his father-in-law betrays him and reports him for researching the heliocentric theory, Rafał declares that he believes in the heliocentric theory at the trial. Still, he takes his own life before being tortured.
At the story’s beginning, the sudden death of a character thought to be the main character shocked viewers, with some saying they “can’t get over Rafał’s death.” From the fourth episode onwards, the story depicts the world 10 years after Rafał’s death, and various opinions fly around on social media after each episode has aired.
Episode 4 of “Kinokoinu” Based on the manga of the same name that was serialized in “Monthly Comic Ryu” (Tokuma Shoten) for 12 years, “Kinokoinu” (original work: Aosei Kimama) is a story about the life of “Yuyami Hotaru (CV: Yuto Uemura),” a picture book writer who lost his beloved pet, and “Kinokoinu (CV: Daiki Kobayashi),” a mysterious creature born in a garden whose left ear is a mushroom. Until the third episode, the sight of Kinokoinu soothing the depressed Hotaru was heartwarming and brought tears to the eyes. However, in the fourth episode, the story takes a complete turn, with Kinokoinu scattering spores and eating melon bread and takoyaki meant for Hotaru, depicting several strange behaviors.
This drew comments such as “If he had released the spores and eaten the takoyaki, the broadcast would have ended (lol),” and many viewers were seen smiling from the previous depressing developments. In addition to the works mentioned above, there are many other popular anime this fall. Try watching the ones you are interested in on a streaming service.
