A new animated commercial for Nature Lab’s men’s care brand, “MARO17,” will be released on July 1, 2025, featuring voice actors Yoshimasa Hosoya, Mamoru Miyano, and Ryohei Kimura.

This is the third animated TV commercial for “MARO17”, which won an international advertising award and was produced by MAPPA, which has worked on “Jujutsu Kaisen”, “Attack on Titan: The Final Season”, and “Chainsaw Man”, and features a collaboration song between

MARO17’s animated TV commercials, the first “Utakata feat. TETSU” and the second “You haven’t given up yet, right?”, were produced in collaboration with animation studio MAPPA. The overwhelming visual beauty and original direction of the commercials have led to the first installment winning Bronze in the FILMCRAFT LOTUS category at the Asia Pacific Advertising Festival 2024 (ADFEST) in March 2024, and Bronze in the Animation (2D) category at the shots Awards Asia Pacific 2024 in October of the same year.

The newly released “Let’s make it from the top of your head” edition is the third installment of these prestigious, award-winning anime TV commercials. The story begins when a mysterious child appears one day with a letter from an unknown sender to Tetsu, a humble private detective.

Tetsu is tasked with guarding the child, and together with Saku Chiya and Shimon, they head for the letter’s destination. However, they are drawn into disturbing events wherever they go, as if guided by the mysterious number “17”. What is the deep secret that the number “17” indicates, and what fate awaits them beyond that?

The story is full of exhilaration, featuring new characters: Tetsu, played by Yoshimasa Hosoya; Chiya Saku, played by Mamoru Miyano; and Shimon, played by Ryohei Kimura. The theme song is provided by Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, as in the previous work. This time, the first collaboration with TK (Ling Tosite Sigure) was realized, and a new song “Closed Archive VS. TK (Ling Tosite Sigure)” was written specially for this commercial. Please pay attention to the music that fully expresses the world view of the story and the lyrics that are sprinkled with items that appear in the work.

The new anime commercial for the men’s care brand “MARO17,” developed by Nature Lab, featuring voice actors Yoshimasa Hosoya, Mamoru Miyano, and Ryohei Kimura, will be released on July 1. To commemorate the release, there will be a giveaway event where you can win prizes by answering a quiz, so be sure to check it out. Ryohei Kimura: I first saw this film at Hosoya-san’s birthday event. It’s a world that makes you imagine what it’s like outside the camera, which I love so much! No, it’s even more than that because it’s so hard to imagine! In such a wonderful image, the story is told by fantastic characters and actors.

What’s more, the items that appear in this film exist!? It’s something that I and everyone love, and you can enjoy using the items that the characters use in the movie. Isn’t it the best? In the third installment, a character named Simon, played by me, will appear, and the story will unfold further. Please enjoy it with your MARO17.

Mamoru Miyano: Following up on our previous collaboration, I will be participating in the “MARO17” commercial as “Saku Chiya”. The quality of the image is excellent again this time! Moreover, it is in the style of a movie trailer, so I can’t help but wonder about the truth of this story! The bold character of the new character “Shimon” also adds a new essence to the film, greatly livening it up.

The relationship between Ryohei and me as childhood friends fit us, so we had a lot of fun recording! Please look forward to this commercial, which is full of adult coolness! Yoshimasa Hosoya, I am Yoshimasa Hosoya, the voice of Tetsu. I heard that this commercial was created to make viewers want to see the rest of the story, much like a movie trailer. What will the main story be like? Will there be a main story? I don’t know yet (lol), but I hope you enjoy the drama of the charming characters. Thank you. Director Takeshi Sato’s third “MARO17” commercial was created with a “movie trailer” motif. The worldview and charm of the three unique characters, Tetsu, Saku Chiya, and Shimon, are condensed into a short video. I hope you enjoy it while imagining the relationships and stories of each character, as if you were watching a movie. Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra Atsushi Yanaka

The fact that we were able to collaborate with TK on the VS series will become even more meaningful to us as time passes. I couldn’t imagine it before we started making the songs. That’s why I was so excited. I was moved by the way TK’s solitary talent, which doesn’t blend with others, was seamlessly integrated into our music one after another due to his wonderful personality. I am truly grateful.

Thank you! (About the lyrics of “Closed Archive”) Entropy is something that falls apart. I started writing the lyrics from the perspective that even consciousness will eventually be scattered evenly, like desert sand. Then, I wrote while imagining the charming characters created by MAPPA in the MARO17 commercial. If you try to become isolated and cut off from your everyday life, which tends to be scattered and diluted, entropy will increase; conversely. It is the chaos created by your friends around you that becomes the fluctuation and order for tomorrow.

Friendship is the gravity that stops loneliness that would be disintegrated in zero gravity and scattered into space. It was bias and fluctuation that once gave birth to life in this world. That is why I believe that resisting fading values is the essential meaning of “living”—biased thinking, ambivalent fluctuation, and chaotic beauty that defies analysis.

These unstable things have desperately connected us humans and created a new order. It is the young people who resonated with biased values that were once not understood by the world who have changed the waves of the times. And I believe that this should continue to be the case. Each generation has nurtured a “closed archive” of its own, as if it were refusing to connect with the world. I believe that this is the treasure that has shaped humanity.
