It has been announced that the romantic comedy manga “Tadaima, Ojamasamasu!” by Watomura will be adapted into a TV anime in 2026. The main cast has been revealed, with Hanazawa Kana as Nakama Rinko, Ishikawa Kaito as Satsuki Akito, and Ishitani Haruki as Usada Haruma. A teaser visual has also been released.

The original work is currently being serialized on the webcomic site Comic Seymour. Rinko, a closeted otaku who lives in room 602 of an apartment building, is troubled by the fact that whenever she tries to watch anime, her neighbor in room 603 always violently protests with a “kabedon” (wall bang).

With the help of the kind Satsuki, who lives in room 601 to her left, Rinko tries to negotiate with her problematic neighbor. Still, the person who appears and kicks down the wall is Usada, also known as “Usaharu,” the original author of Rinko’s favorite manga, “Usaneko Club.” Usada then destroys the wall on the side of room 601, and the three end up living together in a strange room, connected by a hole in the wall.

The first volume of the book version (published by KADOKAWA) will be released on December 1st, and the second volume on December 27th. Hanazawa’s character, Rinko, is a kind and gentle 24-year-old office lady who is so obsessed with anime and manga that she has no romantic experience whatsoever. Ishikawa’s character, Satsuki, pretends to be Rinko’s boyfriend to help her with her wall-don problem, but his flirtatious behavior leaves her confused. Ishitani’s character, Usada, is a young man who works day and night as Usaharu, the manga artist Rinko idolizes.

While his appearance and behavior tend to give off an impression of overbearingness, he also reveals a lonely side. The series is directed and composed by Itsuki Imazaki (“Will You Fall in Love with a Pervert, If It’s Cute?”), with character design by Shunsuke Kikuchi (“Aikatsu!” series). Animation production is handled by Tatsunoko Productions (“KING OF PRISM Your Endless Call Everyone Sparkle! Prism Tours”). Teaser visuals featuring illustrations of Rinko, Satsuki, and Usada have been released. Each character also features a memorable line. Full comments from the cast and original author are below.

[Hanazawa Kana (role of Nakama Rinko)] Congratulations on the anime adaptation of “Tadaoja”!!! Yay!!! As someone who has been nourished by the many heartwarming developments in “Tadaoja,” a quintessential shoujo manga, I hope that everyone who watches the anime will also be engrossed and enjoy it. I will do my best to portray the cute, earnest, and hardworking Rinko, who will make everyone want to drop by! [Ishikawa Kaito (role of Satsuki Kagami)] I am Ishikawa Kaito, and I will be playing the role of Satsuki Kagami. I am honored to participate in this work, which unfolds a thrilling story that keeps you glued to your seat as you live a strange, mysterious life with your next-door neighbor. Satsuki is a cool-headed, calm, and gentle guy who looks great in glasses and exudes a gentlemanly aura.

There are surprisingly many emotional scenes, so I hope you will pay attention to those as well. Please enjoy until the end. [Ishitani Haruki (role of Usada Haruma)] I’m Ishitani Haruki, and I’ll be voicing Usada. Playing him, who is also in a position to express something, yet is also honest, makes me feel like I could be like him, too. He’s a straightforward character, honest with others and with me. His appearance makes quite an impact, so I hope you’ll look forward to that too. I hope that “Tadaoja” will make you feel the warmth of being with someone. Look forward to it. [Watomura (original author)] When I first heard that “Tadaoja” would be adapted into an anime, I was initially thrilled, but then I thought, “This is a trap to make manga artists get excited. It’ll probably end up being like this forever… People, you’re lying… I don’t believe…” and waited with a strange feeling lurking in the wasteland. But it will be adapted into an anime. Thank you!!! I love humans!!! The cast has been announced, including Kana Hanazawa, Kaito Ishikawa as Akito Satsuki, and Haruki Ishitani as Haruma Usada. A teaser visual has also been released.
