It has been decided that the manga Hanazakari no Kimitachi e (Hana-kun) will be made into an anime for the first time. “Hanazakari no Kimitachi e” was serialized in the manga magazine Hana to Yume from 1996 to 2004. To meet Izumi Sano, a high jumper whom she admires, she disguised her gender from America and enrolled in a boarding school.

The main character is Mizuki, a girl who transferred to an all-boys high school. Whether by fate or coincidence, she ends up sharing a room with Sano, and her life at an all-boys school is depicted as full of dangers.

In 2007, a TV drama starring Maki Horikita, Shun Oguri, Toma Ikuta, Hiro Mizushima, and others, and Atsuko Maeda, Aoi Nakamura, and Shohei Miura was aired in 2011. It became a hot topic.

The author Hisaya Nakajo passed away in October 2023, and the Hana to Yume editorial department said, “Hanazakari no Kimitachi e’ will be an anime! This is a project that we have been working on while discussing the content with Mr. Nakajo and looking at the rough sketches of the characters and the scenario. I was looking forward to seeing the world of “Hana-kun” created in a different way from the manga.”.

“It’s a shame that I wasn’t able to see the finished version with you, but thanks to the passionate support of our readers, we’re grateful for the enthusiastic support of our readers for “Hanazakari no Kimitachi e. I am very grateful that ” is back in action in the form of an anime.” He continued, “We are working with the production site and the editorial department to meet Mr. Nakajo’s and our readers’ expectations.
