by The TV anime “One Piece” (Fuji TV, every Sunday from 9:30 am) will be distributed on Hulu’s online video distribution service from noon on Tuesday, November 21st. It will be released on Hulu for the first time with a large volume of over 1000 episodes, from the beginning of “East Blue Arc” to the latest chapter, “Wano Country Arc.”
One Piece has been a nationally famous TV anime broadcast since 1999. The original work is a manga of the same name written by Eiichiro Oda, which has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since 1997.
In 2022, the total number of copies sold worldwide will exceed 510 million, breaking a Guinness World Record. Set in the Great Pirate Age, this story is about the Straw Hat Pirates, a group of pirates led by the main character, Monkey D. Luffy, who go on an epic adventure searching for the One Piece Treasure left behind by the legendary Pirate King. It is a trendy work that needs no introduction and has created many mixed media works such as prints, kabuki, and games, and it has gained tremendous support worldwide.
Distribution will begin sequentially from noon on Tuesday, November 21st, starting with the “East Blue Arc,” which is the beginning of the story and the story of the relationship between Luffy, the Whitebeard Pirates, and the Navy Headquarters over the execution of Luffy’s brother-in-law, Ace.
Episodes will be added every Tuesday, from the “Marinford edition,” depicting a fierce battle, to the latest chapter, “Wano Country edition,” currently being broadcast. (* Only “Wano Country Edition (episode 892 to latest episode)” will be distributed at noon on Thursday, December 28th)
Additionally, Hulu is running a campaign called “If you want to watch #anime too, Hulu.” Unique posters filled with visuals of popular anime works presently being distributed on Hulu are being posted one after another in eight cities across the country: Tokyo, Osaka, Hokkaido, Miyagi, Aichi, Kagawa, Hiroshima, and Fukuoka. (The posting period varies depending on the region)
In addition, a unique web commercial in which Aoi Yuki plays three characters and introduces famous and talked about anime from among the works distributed on Hulu is also being released.
