“Night of the Living Cat” is based on a manga serialized in Monthly Comic Garden and the web manga site MagComi. The story is set shortly after a virus that turns humans who touch cats into cats causes a “Nyandemic” worldwide. It depicts the struggles of humans who are petted by cats and turn into cats one after another. The general director is Miike Takashi, who is known as a master of violence.
The director is Kamiya Tomohiro, who directed “MIX MEISEI STORY ~Second Summer, Beyond the Sky~,” and OLM produced the animation. The anime will start broadcasting on TV Tokyo, BS TV Tokyo, and other networks in July. It will also be pre-streamed on ABEMA and distributed on various services.
