The TV anime “Even Replicas Fall in Love,” based on the light novel from Dengeki Bunko, has been scheduled for broadcast in 2026. A teaser visual and teaser trailer have been released. The main staff and cast have also been announced, revealing that.
“Also known as ‘Replico,” is a popular coming-of-age ensemble drama depicting the bittersweet love affair of a girl created as a substitute. The latest volume, volume 5 of the original manga, and the latest volume, volume 4 of the comic, will both be released on August 8th. Nao, from “Replica,” lives her daily life unobtrusively as Sunao Aikawa’s substitute. When Sunao doesn’t want to go to school, he goes to school in her place and works hard at studying and sports, all to help the original Sunao. But one day, he falls in love. Just that moment changes Nao’s daily life dramatically.
Their uniform dates, their secret promises, and their special, sparkling time together. Please, just for now, let it stay like this. The more Nao wishes for this, the more she finds herself unable to express herself honestly. Sunao, too, senses Nao’s changes and begins to feel anxious.
A sweet and slightly mysterious youthful love story unfolds in a seaside town. The newly released teaser visual features the two main characters, the replica girl “Nao” and the original “Aikawa Sunao,” who summons her in her place. The teaser trailer also includes the first animated footage. The film is produced by Voil and directed by Kimura Ryuichi, known for “Aikatsu!”, “Mononokegari” and “My Next Door Galaxy.”
The series is being written by Shinozuka Tomoko, known for “Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku” and “Skip and Loafer,” while character design is handled by Yasuhiko Eiji, known for “Mr. Osomatsu (Season 3),” “Cells at Work! BLACK,” and “Juushinki Pandora.” It was also revealed that Sumire Morohoshi will be playing the role of Nao/Aikawa Sunao, whose voice was first shown in the teaser trailer. Her delicate portrayal of the two girls, the Replica and the original, is sure to garner attention.
A giveaway will be held on the official Twitter account, offering a chance to win a poster autographed by Morohoshi. Following this announcement, comments were made by Morohoshi and original author Haruna Donburi, along with an illustration by character designer Raemz.

The delicacy, strength, cuteness, and vulnerability depicted in the refreshing world all struck a chord with me, and I felt as if I had spent my youth alongside the girls.
