Sanraku / Rakuro Yotsumu
The main character of “Sanraku” is impressive with his eccentric appearance, half-naked and with a bird’s head. In the real world, he is a high school boy, and his player name is a play on the “sun” and “raku” of his real name, Hizutome Kono Rakuro. Sanraku has experience playing a lot of shitty games, and it’s interesting to see how he uses that knowledge to conquer Shanfro. He’s such a fun character to watch because he’s so immersed in the game that I’m worried he’s getting too involved.
Saiga-0 / Rei Saiga
“Saiga-0” is the heroine of this work. In the game, he is a brave male character who wears legendary armor, but in real life, he is a high school girl who attends the same school as Yoji Rakuro. Her real name, Rei Saiga, is changed into Katakana, and numbers give her a player’s name. The voice actor who plays Saiga-0 and Rei Saiga is Azumi Waki. While she is always nervous when she is Saiga Rei, she acts dignified when she is Saiga-0, and Waki’s different roles are one of the highlights.
Emul
“Emul” is like a mascot character who acts as Sanrak’s partner. An NPC that only plays an active role in the game supports Sanraku using various valuable magics. If you use anthropomorphic items, you can transform into a girl, giving her a different charm than her usual rabbit form. The way she speaks, adding “desu” at the end of her words, is also cute, making her a soothing character to watch.
