Animation! conducted a reader survey titled “Which anime has the highest expectations for the summer of 2023?” We received responses from 198 people during the survey period from June 17th to June 24th. The male-female ratio is about 35% male and about 65% female, with more females. The age group was mainly young, about 50% under 19 and about 20% in their 20s.
The top 3 are dominated by popular works made into movies! 1st place is “Jujutsu Kaisen” Season 2. The approval rating was about 21 percent. “Jujutsu Kaisen” is a dark fantasy serialized in “Weekly Shonen Jump. “It is a story about the battle of sorcerers who exorcise curses born from negative human emotions.
The first season of the TV anime will air from October 2020 to March 2021. The prequel “Theatrical Version Jujutsu Kaisen 0” was released in December 2021 and recorded a huge hit of 13.8 billion yen at the box office. “Because we can finally see the episode’ Kaidama and Tamaori’ from Satoru Gojo and Suguru Natsuyu’s magical college days in the anime!
