Kaiju No. 8″ is a monster battle action based on the manga by Naoya Matsumoto, which has been serialized in Shueisha’s manga magazine app “Shonen Jump +” since July 2020 and has sold over 18 million copies in Japan, including the digital version of the 15 volumes already published. In a world where monsters threaten people daily, Hibino Kafka, who works in a monster cleaning business, begins to pursue his old dream of joining the “Japan Defense Force” to defeat monsters, but is transformed into a beast with extraordinary powers by a mysterious small monster. Kafka is named “Monster No. 8” and chased by the whole of Japan, but he does not give up on his dream of becoming a member of the defense force and continues to face the monster disasters.
The first season of the TV anime was broadcast in April 2024, causing a great stir both in Japan and overseas. In the long-awaited second season, Kafka, who is held captive by the defense force as “Monster No. 8”, is confronted by Narumi Gen, the strongest man in the defense force, and the emergence of an evolved threat puts the defense force in an unprecedented predicament.
