It has been announced that the TV anime ” Hanazakari no Kimitachi e,” based on the popular girls’ manga by the late Nakajo Hisaya, which was also adapted into a live-action drama, will begin airing in January 2026. It has also been announced that the music unit ” YOASOBI ” will be in charge of the opening and ending theme songs.

This was announced at the online event ” Aniplex Online Fest 2025 ” held on September 13th. “Hana-Kimi” is revived in the Reiwa era, and the all-star theme song artists have been announced.

YOASOBI commented, “We are truly honored and overwhelmed by this opportunity. ‘Hanazakari no Kimitachi e’ has been a part of many people’s youth and remains loved by many today. We at YOASOBI are very much looking forward to being able to experience the world of this story once again in this Reiwa era. We will do our utmost to add color to this work through both the beginning and the end of the story.”

The series is a school comedy that was serialized in the manga magazine “Hana to Yume” (Hakusensha) from 1996 to 2004. The story follows Ashiya Mizuki, a girl who disguises herself as a boy and transfers to an all-boys boarding school to meet her crush, Sano Izumi. She lives her school life without anyone realizing her true identity, until one day her true identity is discovered to be a girl. It was also made into a TV series in 2007 and 2011, which became a hot topic.

The anime is directed by Takemura Natsuki and produced by Signal MD. It stars Yamane Akari as Ashiya Mizuki, Yashiro Taku as Sano Izumi, and Toya Kikunosuke as Nakatsu Shuichi.
