The Apothecary Diaries” is an anime based on the novel of the same name by Natsu Hinata. Set in the harem, the story depicts entertainment in which Nekoneko, a pharmacist who has become a “poison taster,” uses her knowledge of poisons and medicines to solve various complex cases that occur in the palace one after another. It has also been adapted into a comic book in two monthly magazines, “Big Gangan” and “Sunday GX,” the total number of series copies has exceeded 33 million.
The TV anime will be broadcast for two consecutive seasons starting in October 2023, and the mystery drama of the rare poison-loving girl Nekoneko and the comical exchanges between Nekoneko and the handsome eunuch Jinshi have become popular. It also became the number one trending topic on X (formerly Twitter), and the announcement was made that the second season will be broadcast in 2025, along with the broadcast of the first season’s final episode.
