In the 24th episode of the anime series Oshi no Ko, which began airing on October 6, Hoshino Ruby (voiced by Ikoma Yurie ) expresses her intense desire for revenge, saying, “I’ll kill you.” Black stars appear in both her eyes, leaving viewers in shock, saying, “Ruby is in the dark…” and “What an expression.”

Last time, Ruby found the dead body of her favorite doctor at the hospital, Goro Amemiya (CV: Kento Ito). In the 24th episode, “Wish,” the last episode of the second season, the police investigation revealed that the body might have been murdered.

Ruby was also told by Tsukuyomi (CV: Kino Hina) that there were two suspicious men around the hospital when Goro went missing. Tsukuyomi revealed that one of the suspicious men was the man who stabbed Hoshino Ai (CV: Takahashi Rie) but did not go into detail about the other man, telling Ruby, “Isn’t it your job to find him?”

Ruby returns to filming, but her anger grows inside, saying, “He took away two people I loved, and he’s still living happily. I can’t forgive him.” “I’ll find him no matter what it takes. I’ll find him and absolutely… kill him,” she says, deciding to take revenge, with black stars appearing in her eyes.

Later, when the group went to the shrine, Ruby wished, “I hope Aqua finds the person who killed her mom and the teacher soon,” as expected, she had a black star in her eye…

In the previously aired 21st episode, Hoshino Aqua (CV: Otsuka Takeo), who was thinking that maybe it would be better to give up on his revenge and live an everyday life, had the “stars in his eyes” disappear, leading to speculation such as “Was that a flame of revenge?” or “Were those unique eyes some kind of curse…?”

Initially, Ruby had a star in one eye, but up until now, she has been portrayed as a cheerful character. However, as Ruby grows increasingly hated and black stars appear in both eyes, many viewers are shocked, commenting, “She’s turned black…” “She’s fallen,” “What an expression,” “Double dark eyes are scarier than Aqua,” and “Ruby has turned to darkness…”

The anime “Oshi no Ko” is based on a hit manga by Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari. The story begins when Goro, an obstetrician-gynecologist, is reincarnated as Aqua, the son of his beloved idol Ai. After Ai is murdered, Aqua enters the entertainment industry to discover the truth behind the incident.

The anime’s first season will air in 2023, followed by a live-action drama series on November 28, 2024, and a movie sequel to the live-action drama set to hit theaters nationwide on December 20. A stage version will also begin performances on December 13, and the production of the anime’s third season was announced after the broadcast of the 24th episode.
