by A Halloween-only visual featuring Gao Shun, who appears in “The Apothecary Diaries,” which is celebrating its first anniversary on TV, has been released. A special video in which you can hear the voice of voice actor Katsuyuki Konishi has also been released.
“The Apothecary Diaries” is an anime based on the novel of the same name by Natsu Hinata. Set in the harem, the story depicts the entertainment of solving the mysteries of the harem, in which Nekoneko, a pharmacist who has become a “poison taster,” uses her knowledge of poisons and medicines to solve various complex cases that occur in the palace one after another. It has also been adapted into a comic book in two monthly magazines, “Big Gangan” and “Sunday GX,” the total number of series copies has exceeded 38 million.
The TV anime will be broadcast for two consecutive seasons starting in October 2023. It is famous for its detective drama by the rare poison-loving girl Nekoneko and the comical interactions between Nekoneko and the handsome eunuch Jinshi. It also ranked first on the trending list on X (formerly Twitter), and the announcement of the second season in 2025 and the Broadcast of the first season’s final episode showed how much excitement there is.
Ahead of Halloween on October 31, a Halloween visual of Gao Shun has been released, dressed as Lei Zhenzi, a goddess who controls thunder and wind, following on from Princess Gyokuyo. With large wings on his back and a golden club, he is dressed in armor and enjoying the Halloween event to the fullest. A video with a mini voice by Katsuyuki Konishi, who plays Gao Shun, was also released.
Even though he is dressed as Lei Zhenzi, notice the lines that give a glimpse of Gao Shun’s considerate personality. In addition, “The Apothecary Diaries Halloween in Animate Fair” will be held from November 2 to November 24 using this illustration. During the fair, you will receive one of the four types of visual cards for every purchase of “The Apothecary Diaries” related goods of 1,100 yen or more (tax included). Other characters’ costumes, such as Nekoneko and Jinshi, will be released soon. Check out the October content calendar, packed with information as we approach our first anniversary.
In addition, to commemorate the first anniversary of the first season, a unique program titled “The Apothecary Diaries: 1st Anniversary and Second Season Information Release Special” will be broadcast. It will begin broadcasting on the TOHO animation YouTube channel on October 22 at 8 pm.
The program will feature Aoi Yuki, who plays Nekoneko, and Takeo Otsuka, who plays Jinshi. In addition to a watch party for the first episode, the latest information on the second season will be delivered. Please look forward to releasing Halloween visuals until the program airs on the day.
