by Netflix has announced its lineup of winter anime to be released in April 2025. The new works to be exclusively distributed by Netflix this season are the completely new “Moonrise” by Tou Ubukata, Hiromu Arakawa, and WIT STUDIO, as well as the popular game “Devil May Cry.”
“Moonrise” is a science fiction anime produced by WIT STUDIO, with the original work written by Katsuhiro Ubukata, who wrote the script for “PSYCHO-PASS” and other works, and the character design by Hiromu Arakawa, known for “Fullmetal Alchemist.” Set shortly, ruled by the AI ”Sapientia,” the Earth maintains peace by sending pollutants and criminals to the moon, while the moon suffers from poverty… It depicts the battle between the “Earth’s inhabitants,” who live in peace, and the “Moon’s Resistance,” plotting their liberation from Earth. It is scheduled to start streaming on April 10th.
The anime version of Capcom’s hit game, Devil May Cry, will also be exclusively distributed on Netflix. Adi Shankar, who worked on the anime Castlevania, will be the executive producer. Korea’s Studio Mir will handle the production.
The story revolves around Dante, a half-human, half-demon devil hunter who uses a giant sword and two guns to solve demon-related cases. Morikawa Toshiyuki will voice Dante in the Japanese dubbed version, just like in the game series. It will be available from April 3rd. In addition, Fire Force Season 3, Season 1, the movie version of The Rose of Versailles, and the new installment of the popular horse racing series Uma Musume Cinderella Gray will also be available on Netflix.
