The second episode of the anime “Summer Pockets” has aired since April 14th. The main character accidentally witnesses Ao Kumon (CV: Natsumi Takamori) changing clothes and taking an “unexpected action” out of kindness (?), which has caused viewers to comment, “But why would you put it on there? lol”.

In the second episode, “How to spend your summer vacation,” the main character, Takahara Hayari (voiced by Chiba Shoya), was about to eat the shaved ice she bought at a candy store in the tatami room at the back of the store.

However, when she opened the sliding door to the room, Ao, who works part-time at the candy store, was just getting changed. Seeing Ao’s pure white underwear, Hayari was so upset that she threw the shaved ice at her buttocks.

Hayari tried to make an excuse, saying, “I go to an all-boys school, so I’m not used to girls who are revealing a lot of skin… So I was just sure it would be bad if I didn’t hide it…!”, but Ao retorted, “Oh, I see. That’s why you used ice… What’s that about?”

Viewers were excited by the whole affair, commenting, “But why would you pour it on there?” “Why, lol?” and “I love how the dropped shaved ice hits its target so perfectly; it’s so stupid.”

“Summer Pockets” is based on a romance adventure game released by the popular game Key in 2018. Set on the fictional island of Torihakujima in the Seto Inland Sea, the story follows the interactions between a boy named Takahara Hayari, who visits the island during summer vacation, and the girls he meets.

Episode 2: How to Spend Summer Vacation

On Torihaku Island, it is customary to call visitors from outside the island “migrants” and warmly welcome them.

The members of Torihaku Island’s youth group Mitani Ryoichi, who always wants to be shirtless; Nomura Miki, who uses a bulky water gun to snipe shirtless scoundrels; and Kano Tenzen, who has an abnormal passion for table tennis hold a welcome party for Hayari.

There, Hayari is reunited with Sorakado Ao, a girl sleeping defenselessly in the shade of a tree. Hayari feels fulfilled by her lively days on Torihaku Island. She is worried about Shiroha, who, for some reason, seems to be keeping her distance from the people of the island…
