In 2025, many anime based on games will be produced. Games of various genres, such as role-playing, action, adventure, and simulation, have been adapted into films in the past. I’m sure many people look forward to the day when their favorite games are adapted into anime. So, Anime! Anime! We will be conducting a reader survey titled “What games would you like to see made into anime? (First half of 2025)” following the second half of 2024.
The survey was divided into two categories: app games and consumer games (also known as home games). It was targeted at works that have not yet been adapted into anime or have not yet been confirmed for adaptation into anime. During the survey period from June 6th to June 15th, 823 people responded.
The gender ratio was approximately 35 percent male and 65 percent female, with a slight majority of females. The age group was mainly comprised of young people, with roughly 40 percent under 19 years old and about 35 percent in their 20s. In this article, we will announce the results of the app games category.
App games with deep stories are popular! No. 1 “DREAM!ing” came in first. Its support rate was about 29 percent. “DREAM!ing” is a story about Shinonome Academy students who pair up and aim to become top students through the “Dream Live” event, where they reveal their innermost thoughts and gain support from the entire school. Readers commented, “It was beautiful to see the characters struggle and clash while exploring how to interact with others.
It’s a unique worldview in which you can show your “dream” to others, but their language is delicate, and I was moved by the depiction of them trying to understand each other a little. I hope this work will reach many people,” and “The attitude of facing dreams and goals with all your might always moves people’s hearts. Although the service has ended, I want to read it again and again.”
In addition, many users said that they came into contact with the work through musicals and other events even after the service ended in 2021. The titles that are still loved by fans came out on top. In second place, “The Devil Butler and the Black Cat” came in second. The support rate was about 4%. “Demon Butler and Black Cat” is a novel game in which you fight against angels that threaten people, together with 18 butlers who have made a contract with the devil.
The app also features a function to support daily life, including schedule management. “Each butler has had a painful experience in the past, and the fact that their past is visible in their everyday behavior adds depth to the story. I feel like I can get closer to their lives if they are depicted in animation with voice and movement.” “The butlers are just so charming! They have various abilities, so the battle with the angels should be more dynamic in animation,” “I’m also curious about the face of the master, the main character, who is praised by the butlers for being beautiful (lol),” and many fans said they wanted to enjoy the dialogue with the butlers. 3rd place is “Heaven Burns Red.”
It was only a few votes behind the second-place finisher. “Heaven Burns Red” is an RPG set on Earth, which is attacked by a mysterious life form called Cancer, where girls fight using a decisive weapon called Seraph. “The daily life part is bright and comical, but when it comes to battles, the atmosphere suddenly changes to seriousness. I’m drawn to that contrast. Each chapter has a tear-jerking development, so I think it’s a work that is suitable for animation,” “It’s a game with a lot of content, so I hope more people will enjoy the story through the anime,” and “Since it’s a Key work, the quality of the story is pretty much guaranteed.
This year, “Summer Pockets” was also made into an anime, so I’m excited to wait for “Heaven’s Bang” next.” There were many voices of expectation for the animation of a game brand that has produced many masterpieces. Here are some other comments! For “Wizard and Black Cat Wiz,” Many other worlds appear, and each one is wonderful.
The story, characters, and BGM are incredible, and the battle scenes are solid, so it will be exciting if it becomes an anime!” For “Touhou LostWord,” The bullet hell battles are sure to look great in animation! It would be great to see the cute characters in motion.” “18TRIP” said, “The mayors of the special tourist zones are divided into four teams, and it’s impressive to see them struggling to revitalize the town.
I’m looking forward to seeing how the ‘hospitality concert’ to welcome tourists will be portrayed.” “The key point of Atelier Leslieana: Forgotten Alchemy & the Liberator of Polar Night is that, of course, the characters from past Atelier series appear. It would be great to see the protagonists of works that have not been animated other than ‘Ryza’ and ‘Escha & Logy’ in the anime.”
There were also votes for popular series. In this survey, many people praised the detailed story structure and the relationships between the characters. In addition, although they were not included in the tally, there were many votes for “Genshin Impact,” which has been announced as an anime project, and “Project Sekai Colorful Stage! feat. Hatsune Miku,” which had its theatrical anime released this year.
