GeeXPlus, a member of the KADOKAWA Group, has launched a new business called GeeXProductions, which produces anime content.

This information was announced at the Anime Expo 2025 event, held in Los Angeles, USA. GeeXPlus was established in 2019 as a management office and influencer marketing company for overseas creators specializing in the anime, game, and manga genres. As anime fans continue to grow worldwide, the number of overseas creators with an interest in anime production and excellent expressiveness is increasing year by year. The company is considering whether to undertake a new initiative that leverages its potential and enthusiasm.

In the future, the company will not only focus on management and marketing, but also on supporting overseas creators who are trying their hand at anime production through GeeXProductions. GeeXProductions’ first content is a short anime called “bâan-Adult’s World” with Gigguk, a YouTuber with over 3 million subscribers. Gigguk, who is trying his hand at anime production for the first time, is in charge of planning and drafting the original story under the name Garnt Maneetapho. The director is Yoshimitsu Ohashi, known for “Code Geass: Rose of the Rebellion”.

The music is by Kevin Penkin, who worked on “The Apothecary Diaries” and “Made in Abyss”. The main characters are Rin and Daichi, who search for their place in Eusania, a different world country connected to Japan. Daichi leaves Japan, where his parents are overprotective, and comes to Eusania in search of a free life.

Meanwhile, Rin, who became an orphan at a young age, feels the need to live independently and leaves Eusania, but… Gigguk, who grew up in England with Thai parents and has also lived in Thailand, depicts the conflict over his own cultural identity and place in the world.

The film is scheduled to premiere in theaters in Japan on August 24 and will be made available to the public on Gigguk’s official YouTube channel. Gigguk has also produced a 12-episode anime called “Soul Mart” with 3D animator and YouTuber DillonGoo, who has over 1.3 million subscribers.

The pilot episode of the series will be released on YouTube in November and is scheduled for official release in 2027. In addition, at “Anime Expo 2025,” the latest episode of the YouTube anime “Otachan!” series “Otachan! Rabbit Season,” produced by Otaku-Vs, premiered. The series will be distributed on Otaku-Vs’ official YouTube channel in due course.

Gigguk comment: My life has changed immeasurably thanks to anime. That’s why “making anime” has been a dream I’ve had since I was a child. I’ve lived in many countries and been exposed to many cultures. Growing up in the UK with Thai parents, I often found it challenging to understand the concept of “hometown.” And it wasn’t until I grew up that I found my answer. In this short animation, I have compiled all my experiences and emotions in search of my own “true hometown.”

Comment from Director Yoshimitsu Ohashi: I was interested in Garnt as a person, and having just finished another project, a short film would be an easy thing to do. That’s why I accepted the director’s role. However, when I made it, I was relentless in asking for retakes, and it turned out to be a much heavier task than I expected. There were easier ways to make it, but we put everything we had at the time into it, and I think we’ve created a fantastic piece that can serve as a business card for “Studio Daisy.”

“Soul Mart” (pilot episode 22 minutes x 1 episode, full-season episode 22 minutes x 12 episodes) Pilot episode: scheduled to be released on YouTube in November 2025 Full-season episode: expected to be released on YouTube in 2027 Language: English version, Japanese dubbed version (planned)

Staff Original story, screenplay, and director: Dillon Goo Producer: Chris Neuhahn Production: GeeXPlus Co., Ltd. Comment from Dillon Goo In a world where social media and the Internet have developed, I think many people feel like they are constantly being evaluated or chased by something.

I wrote this script to focus on people who feel irritated by such daily life and to convey the message, “You can fight back!” Ever since I was an office worker, I’ve felt that titles like “executive” and “director” are intimidating. So, watching Kiel and Sarina fight the executives of the devil company may give strength to people who are afraid of their bosses or resist power. But more than anything, I want people to enjoy this work first!

Comment from a GeeXProductions representative: We have continued to work on creating more value for creators and brand partners. As part of this, we are very pleased to be able to take advantage of our strengths as a member of the KADOKAWA Group and embark on the creation of an original anime IP.

This will put us in a position to be more deeply involved in creative projects, from planning to completion. We are connected to many excellent internet-based creators with organic fan bases, and have also built a strong network with experts in the anime industry. By combining these strengths, we are now able to bring creators’ ideas to life in unprecedented ways while working with the industry.
