Original story by Akira Toriyama. The demon prince’s excellent adventure in search of the “phantom spring” in a world where water has been lost. This work is a series adaptation of the 2023 film “SAND LAND,” based on the short comic of the same name by Akira Toriyama. Set in the mysterious desert world of Sandland, where monsters and humans coexist and the river that serves as their water source has dried up, this fantasy adventure follows the odd trio of demon prince Beelzebub, the monster Thief, and human sheriff Rao as they embark on a journey to find the “phantom spring” that exists somewhere in the desert.
The series is made up of two chapters (13 episodes in total): “The Demon Prince” (episodes 1-6) and “The Angelic Hero” (episodes 7-13), each with a title given by the original author, Akira Toriyama.
Synopsis of Episode 5, “The Terrifying Insect People.” Beelzebub and his companions arrive at the Phantom Fountain, where the surviving Pitch people are hiding. To avoid being discovered, the three head to the King’s Navy. There, they find out a shocking truth. However, General Zeus appears in a “giant aircraft carrier,” and a battle begins with the insect people, who have been researched as an anti-monster weapon.
