The anime ” The Summer When the Light Died ” began streaming on China’s major video streaming service, bilibili, on Tuesday, July 29th.

“The Summer When the Light Died” (abbreviated as “Hikanatsu”) is a youth horror manga by Mokumoku Ren that is currently being serialized on the manga site “Young Ace UP” (KADOKAWA), and is a mix of the excitement and fear of youth.

The story follows Yoshiki, an ordinary high school boy, as he experiences various strange incidents around him while living with the mysterious “Nika,” who mimics his childhood friend, Hikaru.

The spine-chilling plot, which revolves around the madness of “Nika” and the boy, has captivated many readers, with the total number of copies of the original series exceeding 3 million. The TV anime began airing in July 2025.
