To commemorate the 55th anniversary of manga artist Adachi Mitsuru’s career, a collaboration video featuring the manga “Miyuki” and the anime’s theme song, “Omoide ga Ippai” (Full of Memories), was released on the music content YouTube channel “Re:Re:Re: TUNE” at 8:00 PM on Tuesday, August 12, 2025.

The manga “Miyuki” is one of Adachi Mitsuru’s most famous romantic comedies, serialized in Shonen Big Comic (Shogakukan) from 1980. It aired as an anime from March 1983 to April 1984, with H₂O’s “Omoide ga Ippai” serving as the ending theme and insert song. Some of the lyrics were even featured in the final chapter of the manga after the anime ended.

This collaboration video reunites the manga “Miyuki” with H₂O’s classic song “Omoide ga Ippai,” still popular today in the Reiwa era, 42 years after the anime’s first broadcast. H₂O was formed in 1976 by Masaki Akashio and Kenji Nakazawa, and “10% Rain Forecast” served as the opening theme for the anime “Miyuki.”

H₂O’s music had not previously been available on subscription services. Still, this year, marking the 45th anniversary of their debut, they began streaming it alongside the release of “H₂O 45th Anniversary Best Selection,” a 34-track album curated by the band’s members.

This special video, set to the melody of “Omoide ga Ippai,” is packed with elements of the manga “Miyuki.” It traces the memories of Wakamatsu Masato, whose heart was touched by the two “Miyukis.” It’s a fun video for those new to the manga, and a nostalgic one for those who remember it fondly.

The video was released on “Re:Re:Re: TUNE,” a YouTube channel specializing in music content. The channel distributes original content, featuring collaborations between famous artists and popular creators, spanning the Showa, Heisei, and Reiwa eras. Previously, the channel has released covers of classic songs by artists, as well as animated music videos for popular city pop songs around the world, and this latest video is the newest addition to the channel.

The duo from H₂O also shared a comment. “Congratulations to Adachi Mitsuru on the 55th anniversary of his career as an artist. It is a treasure to me to have encountered the world you created through ‘Miyuki’ and to have had the opportunity to sing the theme song. I hope that I will continue to sing ‘Omoide ga Ippai’ and that your story will reach many hearts.”

Nakazawa Kenji “Congratulations to Adachi Mitsuru on the 55th anniversary of his career as an artist. We, too, have been moved and entertained by these two ‘Miyukis’! And we are extremely honored to have been allowed to make ‘Omoide ga Ippai/H₂O’ the first hit song to be adapted into an anime series for your TV series! We wish you continued success and go-go (55).” We hope you enjoy this dream collaboration between ‘Miyuki’, which continues to be loved beyond the Akashio Masaki generation, and ‘Omoide ga Ippai’.
