The production of Season 5 of the TV anime ” The Rising of the Shield Hero ” has been confirmed! The ultra teaser visual and teaser trailer have been released, along with comments from the original creators. Furthermore, KADOKAWA ‘s first global game project will be launched.
The TV anime “The Rising of the Shield Hero” is an animated series based on the novel by Aneko Yusagi (MF Books, “The Rising of the Shield Hero,” published by KADOKAWA). The anime first aired on TV in 2019, followed by “Season 2” in 2022 and “Season 3” in 2023. The final episode of “Season 4,” episode 12, “Return of Destiny,” aired on September 24th.
The decision to produce “Season 5” was announced along with a teaser trailer during the final episode of “Season 4,” episode 12. The released ultra teaser visual shows a mysterious figure sitting on a throne, Naofumi and his companions fighting amidst a cloud of dust, and Naofumi himself sporting a look of anguish.
The teaser video also showcases several memorable scenes that Naofumi will likely encounter in the future. Congratulatory comments have also been received from the original author, Aneko Yusagi; character designer, Seira Minami; and director, Iwato. Aneko Yusagi commented, “Season 5 will be a major challenge for Naofumi and his friends, and it will also be a point where they will question their resolve to protect the world truly, so I hope everyone will watch it.” Seira Minami expressed her anticipation for the continuation of the story, saying, “Episode 12 ended with an intriguing scene. I hope you will enjoy the excitement, thrills, and suspense along with Seira Minami as you wait.”
Director Iwa hinted at “something” that awaits Naofumi and his friends, saying, “Since the third season, they have been preparing for the return of the Phoenix. What awaits them? Please look forward to it.” It was also announced that KADOKAWA’s first global game project, based on the TV anime series “The Rising of the Shield Hero,” for PC and smartphones, will be launched.
The first teaser visuals for the game were also released alongside the announcement.
