The synopsis and preview stills for episode 14, “I Want to Tell My Memories,” from the second season of the fall anime series “The Grieving Ghost Wants to Retire,” which will begin airing on Monday, October 6, 2025, have been released.
“The Grieving Ghost Wants to Retire” is an alternate-world comedy fantasy based on the light novel “The Grieving Ghost Wants to Retire: The Weakest Hunter’s Guide to Raising the Strongest Party,” by Tsukikage, which has sold over 2.4 million copies in total. The first season of the TV anime aired from October to December 2024, ranking highly on various streaming sites and receiving widespread viewership.
Zero-G will be in charge of animation production, with director Masahiro Takata. Kensho Ono stars as the protagonist, Cry Andrich, and the cast also includes Miyu Kubota, Fairouz Ai, Yoshimi Kohara, Tomokazu Sugita, Kohei Amakasaki (the 崎 character is pronounced “tatsusaki”), Aoi Koga, Yoh Daichi, Akira Sekine, Seiji Maeda, Akio Otsuka, Yu Michii, and Satomi Amano.
This is the golden age of treasure hunters. Andrich once vowed, along with his childhood friends, to become the world’s greatest heroes, but among the six, he was the only one who was overwhelmingly lacking in talent. Within just a few years, the party “Strange Grief,” formed by these overly talented monsters (i.e., childhood friends), made a name for itself throughout the imperial capital, and Cry, placed at the top of the group, was quickly elevated to the position of leader of the strongest party. Due to the skyrocketing expectations of those around him, his words and actions are always misinterpreted, leading to unexpected developments.
This is the heroic tale of the glory and suffering of Cry Andrich, renowned as the leader of the strongest party and clan master. Episode 14, “I Want to Tell My Memories,” synopsis: Tino recounts her encounter with Cry, ecstatically remarking, “He was truly a god…” It’s a story of her childhood, before she became a Hunter, when she was saved by the Strange Grief shortly after arriving in the Imperial Capital. Cry has no memory of that time, but as she accompanies Tino on his travels, she gradually begins to recall what happened.
This is the story of the beginning of Tino Shade’s admiration for Strange Grief and Cry.
