To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the anime “Gamba’s Adventure,” the film “Adventurers: Gamba and His Seven Friends” will be re-released nationwide at Aeon Cinemas from January 9, 2026.

“Gamba’s Adventure” is a 1975 TV anime directed by Osamu Dezaki, known for “Ashita no Joe” and “Aim for the Ace!” It depicts the adventures of seven mice, led by the hardworking Gamba, as they embark on a quest to defeat Noroi, a giant white weasel who is massacring mice. A re-edited version of the TV series, “Adventurers: Gamba and His Seven Friends,” was released in 1984.

While retaining the passionate friendship between Gamba and his friends, the story has been significantly streamlined, focusing on the fierce battle between Noroi and Gamba and his friends. Masako Nozawa plays Gamba, and Norio Otsuka plays Noroi. Visitors will receive a special sticker featuring a character design.

Merchandise such as T-shirts, mugs, and postcard sets will also be available for purchase at theaters showing the film. Events such as stage greetings to commemorate the release are also planned. Further information on these events will be available at a later date.
