Anime ‘Chainsaw Man: Assassin Arc’ production confirmed

It has been announced that the latest installment of the Chainsaw Man anime series, Chainsaw Man: Assassin Arc, will be produced. The sequel to the currently showing Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc, teaser visuals, and a promotional video have been released, depicting the assassins targeting Denji’s heart.

The announcement was made at a stage event at Jump Festa 2026 on December 21st. Chainsaw Man is a popular manga currently being serialized in Shonen Jump+ (Shueisha), with a total circulation of over 34 million copies. A TV anime produced by animation studio MAPPA will air in 2022 and has garnered high praise not only in Japan but around the world. It has been streamed in over 200 countries and regions to date.

The film version of Chainsaw Man: Reze, which is a sequel to the final episode of the TV series, has proved extremely popular with fans, and in the 91 days since its release (September 19th to December 18th), it has attracted 6.31 million viewers and grossed over 9.65 billion yen, making it the 56th highest grossing film of all time in Japan (as of December 15th, according to Kogyo Tsushinsha). It is also currently a massive hit in screenings in over 100 countries and regions, including South Korea and the United States.
