by A TV anime adaptation of Aoki Spica’s “Otome Kaiju Caramelize” has been announced. It will air on TBS and BS11 in 2026. A teaser visual, promotional video, a commemorative illustration by Aoki, and the main cast and staff have also been released.
“Otome Kaiju Caramelize” is a romantic comedy currently being serialized in Monthly Comic Alive (KADOKAWA). The protagonist is Kuroe Akaishi, a high school girl whose body parts transform into monster-like forms when she becomes emotional. Kuroe had given up on living her life, believing that no one would accept her, until one day she suddenly became close to Minami Shinta, the most popular boy at school. As a result, her symptoms worsen, and she transforms into a giant monster. The latest volume, volume 9, will be released on December 23rd. The promotional video features Kuroe, who spends her days alone at high school, and Shinta, who talks to her in a friendly manner.
The film also shows Kuroe, whose emotions are heightened by Shinta’s words, and a mysterious monster appearing in the city. Kuroe is voiced by Hikari Senga, and Shinta by Daiji Kajita. Sekine Akira plays Yuri Manatsu, a beautiful girl who loves monsters and attends the same high school as Kuroe; Shiraishi Haruka plays Kono Raimu, Kuroe’s classmate and influencer; Mitsuishi Kotono plays Akaishi Rinko, Kuroe’s mother; Konishi Katsuyuki plays Hibino Kotaro, a biologist; and Matsui Eriko plays Jumbo King, the Akaishi family’s pet. Animation is produced by LIDEN FILMS, directed by Omine Teruyuki, with series composition by Ayana Yuniko, and character design by Nakayama Mitsumi (NUT).
