After the popularity of band works such as ‘KimiPuri,’ ‘Aipuri,’ and ‘PriOctober,’ will the idol anime Sengoku period return in 2025?

Spread the love

The 2010s created many idol anime, including the Idolmaster series Love Live! series, and Uta no Prince-sama♪. Of course, many idol anime are out there today, but bands and other side streams are gaining momentum. However, in 2025, idol anime, especially those with girls playing an active role, will be a big hit.

“KimiPuri” and “Aipuri” collide on Sunday morning!? The first thing I want to mention is “Kimi to Idol PreCure♪” (ABC TV/TV Asahi/hereinafter “KimiPuri”), the latest in the “PreCure” series, which attracts attention every year. At the time of writing, the story, characters, and staff have not been announced, but with a title like this, it’s unlikely that idols will not appear.

The cast has not been announced yet, but considering that the “PreCure” series has been holding live events frequently in recent years, the main cast will likely be people who will perform well there. I hope this work will be comparable to the masterpiece “Suite PreCure ♪, “the eighth work in the series with the “♪” in its name. On the other hand, if both series remain in their current broadcast slots, the second season of “Himitsu no AiPuri” (TV Tokyo) is likely to be broadcast along with “Kimipuri” on Sunday mornings.

The story centers on Himari Aozora and Mitsuki Hoshikawa, who work as “AiPuri” (idol presence) in the virtual world of AiPriverse. Many people were relieved when the second season was announced at the event in November (although it was only just restarted this April along with the arcade cabinet, so it was assumed that it would continue).

Since “Pretty Rhythm Aurora Dream” (TV Tokyo) was broadcast in 2011, the anime “Pretty” series has continued with some interruptions. Still, the latest work, “Himitsu no Aipri,” is the second season of the “Pretty” series, and it seems that it will be even more lively with the addition of new characters and many new songs. What will happen to “Aipri”? It has also been announced that a new work will be produced in the “Pierrot Magical Girl” series, such as “Magical Angel Creamy Mami” (Nippon TV), which began broadcasting in 1983.

The content is more mysterious than the works mentioned above, but idols are deeply involved in the series, except for a few. The currently released visual has the catchphrase, “I want you to sing again.”
