The popular “Pokémon” anime series depicts the friendship and adventures of Pokémon in a world inhabited by mysterious creatures known as “pocket monsters” or “Pokémon” for short. The TV anime series first aired in April 1997. They ran for approximately 26 years, ending in March 2023, and depicted the adventures of Satoshi, a boy striving to become a “Pokémon Master,” and his partner, Pikachu.
A new series starring a young girl named Riko and a young boy named Roy will begin airing in April 2023. The Pokémon film series has also seen numerous releases, starting with the 1998 release of “Pokémon: The First Movie – Mewtwo Strikes Back,” and continues to be beloved by fans across generations. Abema’s special year-end and New Year’s project, “Watch all 24 Pokémon movies for free this year!” kicks off with free broadcasts of four films, including “Pokémon: The First Movie – Mewtwo Strikes Back” (1998), starting at 7:00 pm on December 29. For seven days, until January 4, 2026, the Pokémon movies will be broadcast free of charge in the order of their theatrical release, allowing viewers to enjoy all 24 movies. Additionally, free streaming will be available for one week after broadcast.
The Pokémon anime channel is currently broadcasting all eight anime series, including the latest title currently airing on terrestrial television, as well as all 24 movies for free every day. “Watch all 24 Pokémon movies for free this year!” will begin at 7:00 pm on December 29.
