The winter 2026 anime season is packed with sequels to big titles like “Jujutsu Kaisen,” “Furiren: The Funeral Parlor,” and “Oshi no Ko.” Far from being overshadowed by these titles, a highly anticipated new anime is also scheduled to air, poised to take center stage.

“The then-19-year-old Maki Horikita’s looks are so striking. “Also featuring Masaki Okada and Toma Ikuta.” Here’s the live-action “To You in Full Bloom” from 18 years ago.

“Fate/strange Fake” “Fate/strange Fake,” a spin-off of the globally popular “Fate” series, is finally being broadcast as a TV series. The prologue, “Fate/strange Fake -Whispers of Dawn-,” aired in 2023. The stunning visuals by A-1 Pictures, the magnificent music by Hiroyuki Sawano, and the unique character portrayals of each camp garnered much attention, leading not only series fans but also many anime fans to eagerly await its release.

The story takes place not in Fuyuki, Japan, but in the western American city of Snowfield, and depicts the “False Holy Grail War” that took place several years after the events of “Fate/stay night.” The original novel was written by Narita Ryogo, known for “BACCANO!” and “Durarara!!,” and, in addition to the diverse cast of characters, it also depicts the reunion and clash between the series’ strongest character, Gilgamesh, and his best friend, Enkidu, making it a must-read.

“To You in Full Bloom” Serialized since 1996, the legendary shojo manga “To You in Full Bloom,” with a cumulative circulation of over 17 million copies, is being adapted into a TV anime for the first time in 30 years.

This news has not only garnered attention from longtime fans but also across the entertainment industry as a whole. The work is also famous for being adapted into a live-action drama twice, in 2007 and 2011. Many people remember the sensational hit that brought together a star-studded cast, including Maki Horikita and Shun Oguri.

The story is a high-school romantic comedy about protagonist Mizuki Ashiya, who cross-dresses and transfers to an all-boys school to meet his idol, high jumper Izumi Sano. It has been announced that YOASOBI will perform both the opening and ending themes for this anime adaptation, demonstrating the production team’s extraordinary passion.

“Darwin’s Incident” The anime adaptation of the highly acclaimed manga “Darwin’s Incident” is also worth keeping an eye on. The protagonist, Charlie, a half-human, half-chimpanzee “humanzee,” unfolds a profound story that explores terrorism, discrimination, and the “ethics of the species” surrounding human and animal rights.

While the film often emphasizes its social suspense, the dynamic action scenes, reminiscent of Hollywood films, are also a major highlight. The film will be directed by Tsuda Naokatsu, known for the “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure” series, and there is much anticipation as to how the unique atmosphere of the original will be captured on screen.
