by On the 19th, Ishimori Productions Inc. announced that it has decided to produce a new animated film, “Cyborg 009 Nemesis,” based on Shotaro Ishinomori’s masterpiece, “Cyborg 009.”
“Cyborg 009” is a story about nine cyborgs numbered 000, including 009 (Zero Zero Nine) and Joe Shimamura, who are modified into human weapons by an evil organization. However, they escape and fight together for peace, carrying their worries and sorrows with them. The series began serialization in Weekly Shonen King on July 19, 1964, and will celebrate its 60th anniversary on July 19, 2024.
Last year marked the anniversary year, during which various projects were carried out, including the first stage adaptation and a full-color remake of the manga as a vertically oriented comic. On the day that marked the 61st anniversary of its birth, the production of a new anime was announced as a new step.
