The Ranpo House Murder Case is a unique collaboration episode that will realize the dream collaboration between Edogawa Ranpo and Edogawa Conan to commemorate the 130th anniversary of Edogawa Ranpo’s birth. The story will be set at the former Edogawa Ranpo House for two weeks on November 16th and 23rd.
The story begins with Conan and the Detective Boys visiting the Ranpo House with Mr. Kobayashi as their guide. Conan and the others are excited to see the large number of valuable books in the storehouse that Ranpo used as a library. Detective Sato and Detective Takagi visit there and tell them that a murder has occurred in a nearby park. Moreover, the victim’s belongings seem related to a storehouse that is not usually open to the public.
The modern-day Detective Boys will tackle this complex case. Takahiro Okura will write the script and the screenplay for the hit movie Detective Conan: The Million Dollar Five-Pointed Star. In addition to this work, Okura has written many other Conan scripts, including “Crimson Love Letter,” “The Fist of Blue Sapphire,” and “Halloween Bride.” Seeing how Conan and the Detective Boys perform at Ranpo’s house will be interesting.
In addition, a distinctive visual with a portrait of Edogawa Ranpo as its motif was also released to commemorate this unique collaboration. With the actual picture in the background, Conan poses in the same way as Ranpo and smiles fearlessly, giving the impression of a partnership that transcends time. This exceptional visual will also be released at the YTV animation booth at the “Kyoto International Manga and Anime Fair (Kyoto Maf) 2024,” held in Kyoto on September 21st and 22nd.
