Mamoru Hosoda’s latest film ‘Endless Scarlet’ trailer and scene cuts released, including the appearance of a giant dragon

Director Mamoru Hosoda’s latest film, “Endless Scarlet,” will be released nationwide on November 21, 2025. The trailer for the film has now been released. Stills have also been released, offering a glimpse into Scarlett’s journey.

“Endless Scarlet” tells the story of Princess Scarlett, who fails to avenge her father’s death, but returns to the Land of the Dead to seek revenge against her nemesis. The cast includes Mana Ashida as Scarlett and Masaki Okada as Hijiri, a young Japanese nurse traveling with her. A total of 11 actors, including Koji Yakusho as Claudius, the nemesis who stands in the way of the two, will bring a new dimension to Hosoda’s work. A 90-second trailer for the film has now been released.

The trailer begins with a shocking scene of Claudius executing Scarlett’s father, Amlet, saying, “Traitors must be punished…” While Scarlett is burning with a desire for revenge in the Land of the Dead, she is confronted by a Japanese nurse named Hijiri, who is supposed to be alive in the present day. Unsure why she ended up in the Land of the Dead, Hijiri ends up accompanying Scarlett.

Even when Claudius’s group of assassins tries to kill her, Hijiri tries to persuade her to stop fighting, and no matter how dismissive he seems, he speaks kind words to her. This moves Scarlett’s heart… Further stills have been released, showcasing various scenes of Scarlett and Hijiri clashing and supporting each other in the Land of the Dead.

There’s also a grim expression on Claudius’ face, as well as a memorable scene of her smiling with Amlet.
