The Detective Conan movie contains spoilers, and the official website takes unusual measures. More than five years ago, the era’s name changed to Reiwa. With the development of social media, getting the information you want has become more manageable, but many strange anime-related incidents have occurred.

A good example is the “Conan movie spoiler controversy” in 2019, just after the Reiwa era began. When the 23rd movie version of “Detective Conan: The Fist of Blue Sapphire” was released, a user who tweeted “I want to go see Conan” on Twitter received a spoiler reply saying, “The culprit is (the culprit’s name is written in a blank space)” and a person who used the culprit’s name as their account name gave them a “like.” As for the movie version of “Conan,” spoilers will continue to be a problem even after that.

In the 2023 movie version of Detective Conan: The Black Iron Submarine, a viewer who attended the advance screening posted spoilers on social media, which caused a big problem. This happened in China, not Japan, but many opinions were sent to the official account. The official account for the movie version of Conan posted a document titled “To everyone who supports Detective Conan,” asking viewers to be considerate in their posts. Perhaps this incident caused it.

The latest film, Detective Conan: The Million Dollar Five-Pointed Star, released this year, was the first in Conan’s history not to have a pre-screening. As mentioned above, in the Reiwa era, Twitter’s name change to “X” also became a hot topic. Various changes were made to the specifications in line with this, and as a result, some anime works have caused strange incidents. That is “Celebrates – The King of the Beasts, the Baby, and the Hero of the Corpses,” which was announced to be animated in 2024. When the anime was announced, an official X account was set up, but due to restrictions on changing profiles, the account name was changed to just the two characters, “Kure,” which is not the official title.

The account was created before the information ban was lifted, and the account name was a dummy one until the ban was lifted. After that, the application was approved, and the account name was changed to “Krebates – The King of the Demon Beasts, the Baby, and the Hero of Corpses – TV Anime Official Account.” Although unrelated to SNS, the most significant incident in the Reiwa era was the “Toei Animation Unauthorized Access Incident.” In March 2022, Toei Animation, a long-established Japanese anime studio, announced that the broadcast schedule of some of its works would be affected due to unauthorized access from a third party.

The four titles affected were “Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai,” “Delicious Party PreCure,” “Digimon Ghost Game,” and “One Piece.” In particular, episode 73 of “The Adventure of Dai,” which depicts the return of the mentor and the end of the nemesis, and the first appearance of the third PreCure in “Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai,” were postponed by more than a month, causing many fans to voice their anger.
