The anime ‘Akane Hanashi’ will start airing in April 2026! Additional cast members include Jun Fukuyama, Nobunaga Shimazaki, and five others. Voices revealed for the first time in this promotional video.

The TV anime adaptation of the manga “Akane Hanashi” by Hiroki Suenaga (original author) and Takamasa Bajo (illustrator) is scheduled to begin airing in April 2026. It will be broadcast on the “IMAnimation” block on 24 TV Asahi affiliates nationwide, as well as on BS Asahi.

Along with the broadcast announcement, the first key visual and the first official promotional video have been released. The key visual features the main character, Akane Sakurazaki, and other characters, while the promotional video depicts Akane’s vow and determination to become a “master,” and the character voices have also been revealed for the first time.

Five additional cast members have also been announced to play Akane’s father and senior apprentice. Fukuyama Jun will play Akane’s father, Aragawa Shinta (Sakurazaki Toru); Shimazaki Nobunaga will play Akane’s senior apprentice, Aragawa Michael; Kobayashi Chiaki will play Aragawa Koguma; Azagami Yohei will play Aragawa Kyoji; and Yamashita Seiichiro will play Aragawa Guriko. Each cast member has also provided comments expressing their enthusiasm for taking on rakugo and their thoughts on their role.
