The highly anticipated TV anime series ‘I Want Someone Else in the Next Life,’ based on Konishi Asuka’s original work, is set to premiere in October. The release of key visuals, character visuals, cast, and staff information has only heightened fans’ excitement.

The TV anime adaptation of “I Want Someone Else in the Next Life” was announced last October on the official website of the author X (formerly Twitter) and the magazine Monthly Afternoon (Kodansha). Ueda Hitomi will play Somei Yoshino, the granddaughter of Somei Renji, the boss of the Somei-gumi, a direct descendant of the largest yakuza group in Kansai, the Kirigaya-gumi. Ishida Akira will play Miyama Kirishima, the granddaughter of Miyama Kyou, the head of the Miyama Ikka, a direct descendant of the Kirigaya-gumi. Ishida also played Kirishima in the promotional video commemorating the release of the original manga.

The director is Kawase Toshifumi. Takasugi Rika composed the series and script, Takeda Itsuko designed the characters, and Tsutsumi Hiroaki and Suzuki Masato composed the music. Studio Deen will be in charge of animation production. The key visual features Yoshino and Kirishima, along with the main characters, including the Somei-gumi and the Miyama family.

The story begins when Yoshino, who lives in Kansai, moves to Tokyo to be with Miyama Kirishima, her potential spouse, arranged by her grandfather Renji. Kirishima warmly welcomes Yoshino, a refreshing and friendly young man who doesn’t seem to have a yakuza background. Anxious about being in an unfamiliar place, Yoshino is relieved, but an incident leads her to learn Kirishima’s true nature. Comment from Ueda Hitomi (voice of Somei Yoshino)

The work’s appeal is the beautiful illustrations drawn by Konishi-sensei and the characters who are so crazy that they stand out but are also so cute that you can’t help but fall in love with them! I still vividly remember the feeling I got when I first read the manga a few years ago when both Kirishima and Yoshino gave me chills.

The love story centered around these two people is chilling but exciting… The feeling of not knowing which one makes you feel excited is one of the charms of this work! Enthusiasm for acting: I will be acting alongside all the excellent actors, including Ishida-san, who plays Kirishima, and I’m eager to absorb everything. Still, even so, I’m telling myself, “I won’t be intimidated by any of the actors. I won’t lose myself.

Absolutely!” as I stand in front of the microphone. That feeling of not giving up is what strongly connects me to Yoshino. I’ll portray Yoshino in many ways, from the funny Yoshino to the cute Yoshino to the firm and cool Yoshino! I’ll do my best!

Comments from Ishida Akira, who plays Miyama Kirishima, shed light on the work’s appeal. The characters are all unique individuals, and the story unfolds according to their distinct logic, providing readers with a fascinating glimpse into a different world. The love pattern, another critical aspect of the series, is not your typical romantic storyline, making it even more intriguing.

Enthusiasm for playing the role{pre} I imagine Yamakirishima as someone who doesn’t readily reveal his true feelings. Even though he pretends to smile on the surface, it’s like sugar-coating a medicine, paradoxically proving the bitterness inside. Of course, even for him, his smile at Yoshino is often a natural reaction that he didn’t calculate. I will do my best to convey the exciting aspects of his complicated personality.
