The TV anime “Natsume’s Book of Friends Urushi” will air on TV Tokyo and other networks from October 7th. The key visual, official PV, and theme song information were released on the “Natsume’s Book of Friends Urushi Latest Information Release Special Program – Summer Banquet.”
This is the latest TV anime series of the mysterious contract tale “Natsume’s Book of Friends.” Yuki Midorikawa’s original work (serialized in Hakusensha’s “LaLa”) has sold over 17 million copies in Japan.
Natsume Takashi, a boy who has been able to see youkai since he was a child, inherits his grandmother Reiko’s legacy, the “Book of Friends,” and spends his days returning names to the youkai whose names are bound to it together with his self-proclaimed bodyguard Nyanko-sensei. Through his interactions with Youkai and the people involved, Natsume begins to search for his path, and with the help of his friends who share his feelings, he tries to find a way to protect his precious days.
In the special broadcast, the key visual of the main character, Natsume Takashi, and his partner Nyanko-sensei was unveiled for the first time amid beautiful autumn leaves reminiscent of the autumn when the series was broadcast.
The PV that was also released announced the theme song artist and sound source. The opening theme will be “Alca” by Hinata Kashiwagi, a former member of Ebisu Junior High School, and the ending theme will be “Komariwarai” by ukulele artist Toshiki Kondo, born in 2007. A video message from the two will also be released during the broadcast.
In preparation for the seventh season’s broadcast, TVer is currently streaming the previous series of the anime “Natsume’s Book of Friends” for a limited time.
The anime “Natsume’s Book of Friends Urushi” will be broadcast on TV Tokyo affiliates every Monday at midnight from October 7th and on AT-X every Tuesday at 11:30 p.m. from October 8th. It will also be available on Netflix every Monday at midnight from October 7th and on the Anime Store and U-NEXT every Thursday at midnight from October 10th.
