Based on the concept of “an experimental zone to enrich the world 100 years from now,” Future Creation works to create new value with the young generation who will lead the future. Classroom Adventure, which operates from the base “100BANCH”, has released the Chinese version of the media literacy program “Ray’s Blog” and will introduce it to educational institutions in Taiwan.

“Ray’s Blog,” already experienced by over 1,500 people and featured in many media outlets, is a media literacy program that teaches you how to counter misinformation and AI fakes while playing a puzzle-solving game. To celebrate the Chinese version’s release, we will hold a workshop and press conference in Taiwan from May 18th to 22nd.

The spread of misinformation, known as fake news, has become a severe issue in various news, including conflicts and wars around the world and false rumors about earthquakes that occur frequently. Furthermore, with the development of technologies such as AI, information is becoming more complex than ever, making it difficult to make decisions. You need to make your own decisions to notice and respond to misinformation. Modern society requires us to discern the truth or falsehood of the information we receive and correctly use the Internet.

“Ray’s Blog” is a new program that teaches fact-checking skills and mindset using a puzzle-solving game format. The story, which follows the worldview of anime, a symbol of Japanese culture, begins when the player receives a challenge from a mysterious person who calls himself “Rei.” Like in the real world, players must find the correct information among a mixture of truths and falsehoods, make decisions, and advance the story.

A significant feature of Ray’s Blog is that participants step out of the world of stories and check facts using the Internet. While playing the game, participants can acquire specialized verification skills such as how to doubt information, the characteristics of media, and fakes using generated AI.

“Ray’s Blog” has been provided to as many as 1,500 people, including educational institutions, since its launch in April 2023. It was developed by Classroom Adventure, a fact-checking professional who won Japan in the 2022 Google Verification Challenge (world fact-checking competition) and placed 4th in the world—currently attracting attention, including numerous media features including NHK, university SDGs Action! Award Grand Prix sponsored by Asahi Shimbun, Google Trusted Media Summit, and presentations at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications’ “Study group on ensuring the soundness of information distribution in the digital space.” is an educational program.

About the launch of the Taiwanese version

Following the Japanese and English versions, Classroom Adventure has officially released the Chinese version of “Ray’s Blog -3rd Year B Group’s”. This was conducted jointly with the Taiwan Fact Check Center, an authority on media verification, to combat the recent occurrence of disasters and political misinformation in Taiwan.

Promotional video In Taiwan, misinformation spread during the April 2024 earthquake, causing great confusion. Additionally, due to geopolitical characteristics, the attention paid to misinformation, disinformation, and fact-checking is higher than in Japan. When dealing with social media, including in situations of widespread confusion such as an earthquake, it is essential to develop media literacy to judge the truth or falsity of the flowing information.

The Chinese version of “Ray’s Blog” aims to help Taiwanese students and educators develop their ability to think critically about various types of information and strengthen their ability to counter misinformation. A workshop commemorating the launch of “Ray’s Blog” will be held in Taipei, Taiwan, from May 18th to 22nd, 2024, for general participants and media personnel.

This was made possible by collaborating with Google Taiwan and Taiwan Fact Check Center. We will hold workshops for students and educators, press conferences for media personnel, and classes at two high schools in Taipei City. Classroom Adventure Classroom Adventure is a creative farm with the theme of “gamification” that makes learning fun.
