The second part of the two-part anime film series Given: To the Sea will premiere on September 20. The official poster visual has arrived, and the official trailer has been released on YouTube.

Kizu Natsuki’s manga, Given, is an anime that depicts the youth of the members of the rock band Given. A TV series was broadcast in 2019, and Given: The Movie was released in 2020. The first part of the two-part sequel, Given: Hiiragi Mix, premiered on January 27, 2024. This is the final part of the anime series and shows the conclusion that the members of Given weave together.

The band Given, consisting of Sato Mafuyu, Uenoyama Ritsuka, Nakayama Haruki, and Kaji Akihiko, loses a contest to enter a festival but is invited to make their major debut. While each member shows a positive attitude towards their debut, Mafuyu cannot answer. Meanwhile, Kashima Shu and Yagi Genshun’s band Syh has decided to make their major debut. Ritsuka, who joined as a temporary support guitarist, is trying to complete a song entrusted to her by Shu. Meanwhile, Mafuyu contacts Ritsuka, saying, “I want to see you.”

The poster shows Mafuyu with his eyes slightly lowered and Ritsuka, Haruki, and Akihiko standing as if waiting for Mafuyu. The trailer shows Mafuyu forgetting how to sing as if refusing to play music, and Ritsuka, who usually plays the guitar and does not sing, taking to the microphone. The theme song has been decided to be “Yuugen” by Centimillimental. Centimillimental described the song as “a song like my life itself, which I have played carefully and passed on” and said, “I dedicate this song to Given, this significant story that has greatly changed my life.”

Advance tickets (Mubichike cards) with unique benefits will be sold on July 27. The bonus is a Polaroid-style card with a drawing by Kizu, and three types will be randomly distributed. The original soundtrack of “Given” will be on sale from September 20. It is a best album that includes the soundtracks of the TV anime and three movies. “Given: To the Sea” will feature voice cast members Shogo Yano, Yuuma Uchida, Masato Nakazawa, Takuya Eguchi, Fumiya Imai, Yasuto Saka, and Shintaro Asanuma. Following on from the previous film, the director is Noriko Hashimoto, and Yuniko Ayana writes the script.

Centimillimental Comments Nine years ago, when I fell in love with someone so much that my heart was about to burst, I thought, “I don’t want you to forget.” Even if we are united, we will part ways, and even if we stay together, the end will inevitably come someday and separate us. I realized that meeting meant we would eventually separate, and I felt very lonely.

I wondered how to make this love and a couple last forever and wrote a song. I hoped that at least it would remain in music. Since then, I have played and passed on this song with great care, and it is like my life itself. “Yuigon” I dedicate this song to Given, an important story that has dramatically changed my life.
