by The first promotional video for the second season of the TV anime “Medalist,” which will begin airing on Saturday, January 24, 2026, was released on December 9. It was also announced that the series’ opening theme song will be “Cold Night,” a new song by the seven-member girl group HANA.
The opening theme song, “Cold Night,” was written and composed by Chanmina. It was created as a supportive song to encourage people to take a step towards their dreams, and it fits with the anime’s worldview, which depicts challenges and growth in the world of figure skating. A snippet of the song can be heard in the promotional video.
The song will be released digitally on January 24 (Sat), the day the anime starts airing, and on CD on January 28 (Wed). The CD will be a limited-edition, larger-than-usual “record size”. The jacket will feature a newly drawn illustration of the main character, Yuzuki Inori, posing as HANA, and the visual will be revealed at a later date.
