It has been decided that the second season of the TV anime The Apothecary Diaries will be broadcast in two consecutive seasons starting on January 10, 2025. It will be broadcast every Friday from 11:00 p.m. on Nippon Television’s “FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT (Fura-ani)” time slot and simultaneously nationwide.

Nekoneko and Jinshi face even more complex cases in the second season after Princess Tamaha is found pregnant. Dark clouds begin to swirl within the palace, and an unprecedented unsolved case puts Jinshi’s life at risk. As the uneasy atmosphere continues, a foreign caravan and an envoy making unreasonable demands arrive, and dark clouds gather over the palace. The new complex case that awaits Nekoneko and Jinshi will eventually develop into a significant incident involving the country.

The teaser PV shows a foreign caravan, two suspicious women, and a person dancing under the moonlight, raising expectations for the unfolding story.

The series is a hugely popular entertainment series set in the Middle Ages in the East. In it, a girl who is a poison taster solves various complex cases that occur in the palace one after another. The original novel began serializing on the submission site “Let’s Become a Novelist” in October 2011 and was later published by “Hero Bunko.”

The manga is currently being serialized in the monthly “Big Gangan” and “Sunday GX,” the comics are also on sale. The series has sold over 38 million copies, and the TV anime’s first season aired from October 2023 to March 2024.
