The TV anime series Oshi no Ko, currently broadcast on TOKYO MX and other networks and distributed on ABEMA, has announced that it will have a third season. This was revealed in a teaser video after the end of the final and 24th episodes, which were broadcast today, October 6th (Sun), at 7 p.m.
The teaser video released this time features memorable scenes from the second season and B-Komachi’s new song, “POP IN 2.” At the end, a new visual leading to the third season is shown, starting with a scene of Ruby learning of Goro’s death. This new song’s music and choreography videos were also released on the official channel.
In addition, new information has been released in conjunction with the decision to produce a third season. As new cast members, Miyano Mamoru has been appointed to play the mysterious character “Kamiki Hikaru” and Kino Hina to play the silver-haired girl “Tsukuyomi.” Miyano commented on her casting, “I never thought I’d be able to appear in ‘Oshi no Ko,’ so I’m very honored. I want to cherish the worldview of this work that many people are looking forward to and face the mysterious character ‘Kamiki Hikaru.'”
Kino also discussed her thoughts on the role, saying, “There was a lot I didn’t know about her even while acting, so it was difficult, but I was conscious of the gap between her young appearance and the way she speaks.” “Oshi no Ko” is a manga by Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari. It was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump and had a total circulation of over 15 million copies.
In addition to its popularity, the original work is shocking and depicts the “showbiz world” from a completely new perspective. The high-quality animation by Doga Kobo and the theme song “Idol” by YOASOBI have attracted attention and become a huge hit. The second season of the sequel, the TV anime, began airing in March this year and will start in July, and the production of the third season is currently being decided.
