It has been decided that a new game called “Samurai Pizza Cats: Blast from the Past!” will be produced based on the 1990

“Samurai Pizza Cats: Blast from the Past!” is a 2D action RPG set in the same Edoropolis as the anime, where you instantly switch between members of the secret ninja team Yankee and use each character’s abilities to challenge puzzles and battles. It has been developed by the Dutch game studio BLAST ZERO and will be distributed worldwide by Red Dunes Games of the United Arab Emirates. A trailer featuring the original voice actors has also been released.

The trailer features a high-quality reproduction of the cel-style animation identical to the original animation and some footage of the game in development. Satoru Akahori, who was the series composer for “Ninja Cats Teyandee,” supervised the translation of the script, and the original voice actors Kappei Yamaguchi (Yattarou), Ai Orikasa ( Pururun ), Ikuya Sawaki (Konmori Kitsutsuka), Naoki Tatsuta (Karasu Gen Narisai), and Kenyu Horiuchi (narrator) have reunited. The role of Sukashi is played by Seiichiro Yamashita, a junior of the original voice actor Jurota Kosugi, who is in the same agency.

The comedy anime “Ninja Cats Teyandee” “Ninja Cats Teyandee,” which began airing in Japan on February 1, 1990, is a cute and cool sci-fi period comedy battle anime set in “Edopolis,” a city inhabited by animal-type robots, depicting the action between the evil ninja group Karakara Clan, who threaten the peace of the town, and the secret ninja group Yankee, who crack down on them. It was also broadcast on TV worldwide from the early 1990s under the title “Samurai Pizza Cats.”

Cast comments [Yamaguchi Kappei (role of Yattaro)] How did you feel about recording your voice as Yattaro for “Ninja Cats Teyandee” after a long time? Yattaro is my roots as a voice actor, along with Ranma, so ever since I heard that they were making a game, I wanted to play him, and I was pleased when it came to fruition. I was surprised to hear that it was in the Netherlands (laughs), but it felt good to have “the unrivaled victory!!” after such a long time! I love Yattaro!! Please tell us your impressions of recording with all the original cast members.

Also, how was it that Yamashita Seiichiro joined us for the first time in the role of Sukashy? The fun exchanges between Kon-chan and Gen-chan, Kenyu-san’s witty narration, and the exciting introductions of the Yankees. In an instant, it was a happy recording that made me feel like I was back in the studio. I was also surprised that the trailer reproduced the original cel animation exactly, and I felt the love of the Dutch staff.

Thank you to Yamashita Seiichiro for joining us in the new role of Sukashy! Even 35 years after its broadcast, “Kyatto Ninja Den Teyandee” is still loved by many people both in Japan and overseas as “Samurai Pizza Cats.” Please give us some comments on the occasion of the 35th anniversary. Congratulations on the 35th anniversary of “Kyatto Ninja Den Teyandee”! As time has passed since the broadcast, I have heard more people say, “I loved Teyandee!” I’m thrilled that it continues to be loved overseas as well. It’s a work I’ve always wanted to cherish, and Yattaro is an irreplaceable and essential character.

[Orikasa Ai (Pururun)] How did you feel about recording your voice as Pururun in “Kyatto Ninjaden Teyandee” for the first time in a while? First of all, I was impressed by the quality of the footage! I was thrilled to feel the love the game production team has for the work. I was also excited by the dialogue between Kornmori and Gen Nari Sai, and it was nice to say Pururun’s catchphrase after such a long time.

What were your thoughts about recording with all the original cast members? Also, how was it when Yamashita Seiichiro joined us for the first time, this time as Sukashi’s voice? It’s a work that I love and hasn’t faded away in my memory, and I can’t believe it was 35 years ago. When I entered the studio with the outstanding regular cast members, including Katsuhira-san, Pururun’s lines came out naturally.

Yamashita-san, who plays the new cast member Sukashi, also captured the atmosphere well and was a cool Sukashi. Even 35 years after its broadcast, “Samurai Pizza Cats” is still loved by many people in Japan and overseas. Please give us your comments on the occasion of the 35th anniversary.

The drinking party (laughs) was fun too. The good atmosphere of the production team was conveyed to the viewers. I’m thrilled to have been involved in a work many people still love after 35 years. Please continue to support “Samurai Pizza Cats.” [Seiichiro Yamashita (Sukashi)] Were you initially familiar with “Samurai Pizza Cats”? Please tell us your impressions of the trailer recording. Excuse me, but this was my first learning about the work. Being involved in work made before I was born is rare, so it’s a strange feeling. We could record the trailer with everyone, including Yamaguchi Kappei, and it was a happy space to enjoy the acting of my great seniors up close.

Please tell us how you felt about taking over the role of Sukashy from your senior in the agency, Kosugi Jurota. I still feel a sense of honor to have taken over. It was my first time playing a role that someone else had played, and I thought a lot about how to do so without damaging fans’ memories of Sukashy. The words of the production staff saved me, and it was a rare experience.

Even 35 years after its broadcast, “Kyatto Ninja Den Teyandee” is still loved by many people overseas as “Samurai Pizza Cats”. Please give us your comments on the 35th anniversary. The work continues to remain in someone’s heart somewhere in the world. And that love has taken shape. Nothing is more wonderful than this; this connection is a great treasure in my acting career. Thank you for your continued support! (C)SOTSU Tatsunoko Production BLAST ZERO
