by On December 16, the official Chainsaw Man X announced the seventh special gift for moviegoers of the film Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc. The emotional illustrations released alongside the information release have received a strong response from fans.
“Chainsaw Man” is an anime based on the manga (written by Tatsuki Fujimoto), the second part of which has been serialized in “Shonen Jump+” since July 13, 2022. The TV series aired from October to December 2022, and the movie version, “Reze Arc,” has been in theaters since September 19.
The seventh special gift for attendees, the “Memorial Collection,” will feature original illustrations by the original author, Tatsuki Fujimoto, theme song artist Kenshi Yonezu, and staff members. It will also include rare content, such as a new interview with Fujimoto after watching the film, and illustrations shown at overseas events.
As this is the last bonus information announced so far, fans expressed their joy with comments such as “What, Yonezu too?!?!?!”, “He did it…!”, “I really want it,” and “Thank you for this wonderful Christmas present from the official website.”
Along with details of the seventh bonus, the cover illustration drawn by character designer Kazutaka Sugiyama and the illustration page images drawn by main animator Shoichi have also been released.
Of these, Shoichi’s original drawing is an ‘if’ situation in which Denji and Reze are in middle school. The illustration shows Denji offering an umbrella to Reze, and some people found it emotional, saying, “In the main story, Reze came to take shelter from the rain, but this time it’s Denji offering the umbrella.”
Some comments focused on the connection to the lyrics of “KICK BACK,” the opening theme for the Chainsaw Man TV series, written by Yonezu, with one saying, “Rain won’t stop, so give me that umbrella first… right!?”
