The main promotional video for the TV anime “One Dance,” which will air nationwide on TV Asahi’s “IMAnimation W” slot starting October 8th, has been released.
This coming-of-age story follows high school student Kotani Hanaki (voiced by Uchiyama Kouki ), who has a stutter and struggles to express his feelings. He becomes drawn to Dance through his classmate, Wanda Hikari (voiced by Hitsujimiya Hina), who pursues her own expression without worrying about what others think. He then challenges himself to express himself through “freestyle” dance, a style that requires no words. The original work was serialized in Kodansha’s monthly comic magazine “Afternoon,” and has sold over 1.1 million copies.
In addition to bold dance scenes, the series also features delicate human relationships and bittersweet love stories, and has been published in 10 languages. Madhouse and Cyclone Graphics produce the animation. The project also welcomes dancer RIEHATA, who has choreographed for numerous artists, including BTS, as dance producer, to take on the challenge of creating a full-fledged dance animation.
The main promotional video, released this year, features new footage from over 30 dance songs, along with Yaffle feat. Sahnya’s “Kujira.” Information about the film’s theme songs has also been announced.
The opening theme will be BE: FIRST’s new song, “Stare In Wonder.” Member SOTA commented, “As a band that respects the culture of dance, we are delighted and honored to be able to perform the theme song for a work that focuses so deeply and delicately on dance and has such a passionate story.”
The ending theme will be ELSEE ‘s new song, “Wondrous.” Member AKARI commented, “As someone who has been involved in dance performance since our student days, we can relate to many aspects of the worldview and protagonists’ feelings depicted in ‘One Dance,’ and we are honored to be able to work on such a special production.” Comments: SOTA (Opening Theme / BE: FIRST): This is SOTA from BE: FIRST.
